It's kind of funny that the flag that
homosexuals fly is basically the same rainbow
of colors. . .not that there's anything wrong
with that.

I love my apple, and that is a awesome
purchase, adn this is a great unboxing
gallery, but I HATE that logo. It reminds me
of the days when I hated Apple.

It's not *quite* the rainbow - that goes red,
orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
There's a bit of creative license in the
logo.

The 1976 Apple logo starts with green. GYORPB
The 1978 Gay Pride flag starts with red.
ROYGBV
While Apple has been a supporter of
non-discrimination in the workplace for its
gay employees, the rainbow colors of its logo
are not due to those policies. I can
understand why people don't like the logo
from a style perspective: having six colors
in your logo means it will clash with just
about everything, so I can see why they go
with a solid color today. I never understood
why the homophobic out there seemed to hate
the logo so much: in the seventies, more
colors meant more impressive.

I can't believe nobody else likes the logo. Ilove the original Apple logo. I guess it's from
all the time I spent looking at it in first
grade playing Oregon Trail.

The rainbow logo almost seemed like a sick
joke on monochrome computers, though. It's
like the logo was bragging about the
computer's advanced color capabilities, and
then you found out it could only print out in color, and then only if you had a color
ribbon for your ImageWriter II (and those
color ribbons were a PAIN)...

Brian, actually Apple II computers were able
to display color. You just had to connect
them to color monitors or TV sets! =) That's
pretty amazing for a relatively cheap
computer launched in the seventies. ^^

I like the old Apple logo. I like the new one
better, though. And, about the time that //c
was made I was starting to use an IBM PS/2
Model 50. I couldn't stand Macs (not that I
was much aware of Apple making other stuff
than Macs) back then but boy was I
unadventureous using that PS/2.
Well, the PS/2 was in certain ways
adventurous for a PC back then...
