"anti-corruption and depose-Chen" 2006~2008

this mass "anti-corruption and depose-Chen* " campaign led by Shih Ming-te is formally launched on Sept 9th, 2006 and still on-going now...

there are three key issues make it different with other political movements happened recently in Taiwan:
A. it is initiated by people, not the political opposite parties..
B. it is turning to social movement of "anti-corruption" from politcal protest of "depose-President Chen".
C. "Love, Peace and non-Violence" (愛、和平與非暴力); are the principles and "Propriety, Righteousness, Integrity, Honor" (禮、義、廉、恥); are the four essential core values of this movement...

all these have maken the campaign go more stronger and longer...

"As if it were not bad enough somebody shot and wounded Taiwanese president Chen Shui-bian during his most recent political campaign, his wife, Wu Shu-Chen, is now standing accused of embezzling $450,000 in state funds. Other family members and friends have also been alleged to use their ties to him for illicit gains, most notably his son-in-law Chao Chien-ming who was arrested on charges of insider trading and embezzlement. In November, Wu was formally indicted, but the president himself seems to be wearing a constitutionally tailored Teflon suit, because despite the allegations of his connection with this and other graft, he cannot be charged with anything until his presidential term ends in 2008. Recently, lawmakers fell 28 votes short of the required two-thirds majority that would have instituted an island-wide recall vote."

2007/4/1 施明德在倒扁總部幹部陪同下，召開記者會。宣佈結束「自囚」，「紅將再起」重新復出， 發起「二次倒扁」行動。並準備成立政團，號召紅衫軍加入年底立委選戰...

2007/9/9 紀念凱道靜坐週年，倒扁總部與數千紅衫軍舉辦燭光晚會，用30萬支燭火在總統府前排出 一個"屁"字，施明德發表演說為紅衫軍運動重新定義。林正杰帶領的"紅衫軍自主公民協 會"宣佈與施劃清界線，並與民盟等其他團體結盟，投入反對公投入聯行動。

2007/10/30「反貪倒扁總部」召開記者會，宣佈將會計師公會查帳完畢後所結 餘的新台幣一千五百六十七萬餘元，全數捐給五個社福慈善團體。自2006/8/11由施明德與賀德芬，簡錫偕等發起一人百元的「百萬人倒扁行動」 ，歷經445天後正式畫下句點。對當初因施明德豪語****而響應的百萬人民而言，不 免令人失望。但反貪的種子，脫離老幹後仍在萌芽成長中...

2008/3/22 總統大選結果台灣人民以7,658,724票(58.45%)選擇馬英九，比謝長廷5 ,445,239票(41.55%)多220萬票，結束貪腐政權。

2008/5/4: 謝長廷在民進黨臨全會，綜合大家看法結論：民進黨清廉受質疑是近幾次(立委與總統選舉 )敗選的主要原因...


***pan-Reds 或"泛紅" ，是指某些特定群眾參加「反貪倒扁」運動，同時也把其他特定政治立場或其他目標訴求一 起帶進來。 "泛紅"認為藉與其他政黨、社會團體、民間組織結盟合作，合縱連 橫，可以較快壯大聲勢，較易達成目標。
基本上，"Reds" "紅" 或"紅衫軍"是主張以愛、和平、非暴力方式單純地「反貪倒扁」。並不把個人政治屬性或其他訴求帶入這個運動，否則"反貪腐"的目標容易被失焦模糊。
