Current London Wall is a bit of a mess really. I don't really like Alban Gate at all. Although the Highwalk connects to it, the thoroughfares always smell of pizza! Not that great to smell that at 7.00am!
Seriously though is it just me or are the early 90s builds in the City beginning to date quite quickly (not weathering well either).

Couldn't agree more about Alban Gate, it's naff. I used to work on St Alphage Gardens (now there's a little known city address and my girlfriend at the time worked in one of the twin PizzaExpresses.

I know this area all too well spending many hours parked outside the buildings that stand there today I can see the sentimentality but also you have to remember that in order to keep the companies or attract new ones the city has to move forward most of these buildings would be unsuitable for modern day business requirements (computer cabling ,air conditioning etc..) . In todays cuthroat office leasing business there are so many towns and cities, not only in this country, offering attractive business accomodation that its imperitve ' the city ' stays ahead of the game. Thats not to say though that all of the new buildings look good.
Would you agree that there is a resemblance to Croydon (1970's) with this view.
Lastly if you watch an early episode of the sixties series Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) it features in and around this area mainly nearby Fore Street all looking very new and the beginnings of that liitle building site known as the Barbican.
