On the train between Kuala Lampur and Hat Yai, you can ride:
First Class -- Two bed sleeper cabin.
Second Class -- Normal passenger car, with beds that fold down, dormitory style.
Third Class -- Wooden benches and people carrying live chickens in cardboard boxes.
It would appear that these folks are waiting to ride fourth class to Hat Yai.
I considered joining them, for the experience of it. It is only about twenty-five miles. It would have saved a bit of money, but it is pretty dangerous, and I would not get a Thai entry stamp, which might complicate my eventual departure.
Official types are in the office in the background. I do not know if these folks had to pay a bribe, or if they get by on street cred.
