San Juan Island is located in a rain shadow cast by the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island. Although relatively close to Seattle (couple of hours of driving and a ferry ride away), the island gets just about half of the rainfall from the city. Yesterday was no exception, dodging the rain for almost the entire day. After exploring the island for a while, I was greeted by this nice sunset at the Lime Kiln State Park.
