The Handkerchief Seller

Well, here's my first street shot ever! I want to dedicate my first street shot to one of my flickr buddy SkyShaper who has always been a great inspiration with his amazing street shots.

Some lessons learned: street photography is very challenging, my 18-200mm lens was not suitable, a long focal length (like 300 or 400mm) would have been much better, timing and lighting is very critical. But I really had fun experimenting it!

Taken in the district of Chandni Chock in New Delhi. No textures whatsoever used here, they are completely natural! This is actually the only 'close-up' shot that I like. I might post some wide angle ones.

Une superbe composition, dans le cadrage, dans la gestion des textures et des couleurs.
      C'est superbe.

Wow. First portrait. And no texture. Brilliant result. It's usually very hard to get out of our photographic comfort zone, well, not for you!
I found the same difficulties with the 18-200, but I personally enjoyed the few attempts I made. Sometimes landscapes need a human element to become alive (like your other Indian shot in the fields).
Yes you should make a video too. It will be a blockbuster! I made mine in a very short time in iMovie.

You've mastered what you normally do so it's time to branch out I think. Street shooting is very challenging and rewarding I think. I really like this one.

I like how the handkerchiefs kind of give the shot some colour.
