After a solid week of icy cold weather, mother nature lets up and the river breaks open. Although this photo doesn't do any justice for scale, the shelf is roughly 2' thick above the waterline.

To follow up on the deep freeze of the past few weeks, warm winds have roused the ice and snow from their hold on the city. Here beneath the Louise Bridge, East flowing currents chart their way through the Bow.
