Wow, that's some heavy-handed guilt.

Here in SLC we just have speed bumps.

Hee! Yes, she looks so sad and concerned. But you know what she should be concerned about? Her grade in English class. It should be "drive slowly."

Oh! You're right!

I think they do have signs here that say "Drive Slow - Let Our Children Grow." Those need to be modified to slowly and growly, immediately.

I guess she's one of the "Slow Children" the other signs always refer to.

She's sad because all the other kids have laptops while she gets a chalkboard.

heehee...I would slow down if I saw her, or drive a different route so she wasn't looking at me everyday.

She's clearly sad because she's the ghost of a girl who was run over at that very spot in the 1940's, dying on the way to school on the day that her class studied adverbs and adjectives.

It is a classy home grown caution sign. Sometimes just reading a yellow sign just isn't enough.

Bob, I think her parents are just happy she's healthy.

Joe, that must be it. At least she can take solace in knowing that she's certainly better dressed and coiffed.

Jenn, she is a little bit of a downer. :)

That explains everything, Greg!

lungstruck, I think it would be funnier, I mean more effective, if it said that.

Added, apricotX!

Oh, marada, I really dig the sign - it beats a bland old yellow thing any day.

Wow. That's a way to guilt people into slowing down, I guess. Of course, you'll be so busy trying to see through the tears in your eyes after seeing this, it might actually make things worse....

Great find, though.

Thanks, OBG & Jen! :) You know what really makes it worse? It's at the very bottom of a winding, swooping, very steep, hilly road. By the time you get to this, you either don't need to be told to slow down because you've been inching along in terror, or it's too late, because the law of physics says you blew past this at 85 mph.

Oh God, "Drive Slow" and "Drive Safe" are two of my biggest pet peeves. ADVERBS, people!

Yes, what Julia said....adverbs!
I had a silly thought that this is a girl who was flattened by a speeding car, and that's why she looks so glum and is now two dimensional (LOL).

Ellie, that works for me. And yeah, Julia, I agree with you too.

I'll post the Holga version at my blog later this week.
