My friend, Dan, mentioned that he had a corduroy suit given to him after a relative passed away. We both undeniably agreed that we had to make a photograph with it. I envisioned 70’s vintage wide lapels and bell bottoms. Sadly, it turned out to be not quite so cool. We still had lots of laughs taking the image. Damn, a corduroy suit!

I’m not sure this makes for a great black and white photograph. There’s just not a lot of contrast. I also shot some Portra, which I’m hoping turns out better. I’ll likely replace this with color, if it comes out ok.

Made with a Hasselblad 500C medium format SLR camera, a Zeiss 80mm f2.8 lens, and
Kodak Professional Tri-X 400 black and white film. Developed in Kodak D76 (1:1 @ 68°F for 9.75 mins) following standard processing protocol using a Patterson daylight tank.

A bit of open ice along the Parker Head Road in Phippsburg reflecting the clouds above... I wish I'd had a wider lens with me to include the stairs going into the water (stepping back meant standing in the middle of the road). Also, I typically don't mind grind and grain, but I would have liked this cleaner. I won't have my C41 processing done at the drug store again. ...need to just figure out how to do it myself. Still, it's Jimi Hendrix trippy cool to my eyes.

This camera really is fantastic to use; however, I'm having occasional difficulty with the film advance. It's not an issue with overlap, but multiple frame exposure. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the film magazine or in the camera body. Has anyone experienced this or have any thoughts related?
