Time Machine

My (future) father-in-law had this old reel-to-reel in his garage and offered it to me, not even knowing if it still worked. After a new drive belt and some disassembly to lubricate the important parts, she plays again!

OUCH!

Just after she turned over 200k I have to go and do this. It was dicey weather and I underestimated the slipperiness of the roads. That is, until I was going across an overpass and suddenly found myself going sideways on a sheet of ice. I feel lucky that she escaped with only this much damage. The chrome bumper took most of the impact of the guard rail, which saved the more fragile parts like the fender and suspension.

The ghetto duck tape is to keep the interior plastic housing from rubbing on the tire. The bumper is nowhere close to falling off. They don't make cars like this any more.
