Yesterday, Linda and I drove to Tallahassee to participate in Lobby Days with the Florida Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates. We sat and spoke with state senators and representatives about current legislation, particularly the Prevention First Act and Healthy Teens Act.

At noon, there was a press conference at which state senators Nan Rich and Ted Deutch and state representatives Audrey Gibson and Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall spoke. We stood behind them on the old state capital steps with placards and stickers. Overall, there were more than 150 people at the press conference.

This was my first time ever participating so actively in my government. It was wonderful to spend the day with like-minded individuals all working toward a common goal.
