The iPhone apparently shares the inability to turn left with Derek Zoolander. (it was rotating clockwise in the case)
I took this photo a few minutes after the phone was announced at MacWorld 2007. It was under glass and no one was allowed to touch it, and they only had one.

Looks like they put me in charge of the design. I probably wouldn't have allowed the screen to autoadjust for flicks that were off by 90 degrees - lol.
