----------
8:30am ~ After Mei Xiang had finished eating some bamboo, she came down to the front of yard 2, and sat in right in front looking at her fans. She sat in this position for a good 10 minutes eating grass and looking around. A few minutes later, bus loads of kids came down the lower-level Asia Trail path. These kids were in groups with colored t-shirts. They just kept coming and coming. Once they got in front of Mei Xiang, she stayed put for a few minutes but moved toward to the back of the yard. I asked one of the chaperones were they are from, they said Knoxville, TN. Then I saw some police officers (in uniform, complete with items; firearms, tasers, handcuffs, etc..). Later in the day near the Lions/Tigers yards all the kids were eating lunch, I asked one of the Knoxville police officers, how many people were on the trip, he broke it down for me: 1,800 kids, 75 adults, 35 police officers (Knoxville and Knox county), 34 buses, and 5 police vehicles.....Mornings are really the best time to go :)
