Adam and I planned to go see "Music and Lyrics" after he got out of work last night. Not wanting him to go unfed, I whipped up some sandwiches. We were both pretty shocked how good they were, especially considering that I wasn't basing them off of a recipe or other source: I just tried to make something simple, but full of flavor, and a tad spicy.
Whole wheat baguettes, hickory smoked cajun turkey, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, thin-sliced tomato, honey mustard, and a sprinkling of chili powder and red pepper, grilled just enough to melt the cheese. Served on a bed of spicy red (jalapeño) and blue (cayenne pepper corn) tortilla chips with a small bowl of salsa.
I packed the whole thing in a large tupperware container (it fit pretty darn perfectly, if not great for photos) and we ate in the car with vitamin waters and the windows rolled down, enjoying the momentarily wonderful warm weather.

::sigh:: that was the best looking sammich + story, wish i was there eating it! well maybe minus the lettuce. heh ;)
