To get this image, I set up my timer on my 10D and took a bunch of 15 second exposures from my balcony looking west. I actually didn't even see this bolt it went off. It was only when I was reviewing the 100 or so shots I took did I find this one. I was totally amazed. The final image was photoshopped a bit as the initial shot was way overexposed.

I have nominated this totally awesome photograph to be a featured photo on the English wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org

Voting is quite favorable, and it likely will be featured on the homepage soon!

Congratulations, this image is now a featured picture on the English Wikipedia! It can be found here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Denver_Lightning. jpg . The voting was from some EXTREMELY CRITICAL people, and there were 8 full support votes, 1 weak support, and 1 weak oppose. That is unusually high praise such extremely critical people. I take back the comment about being featured on the home page, for that doesn't happen immediately (if at all).

I would like to use the photo of lightning in Denver on the cover of my new novel, Soundings, which is set in Denver. I'm told that I need to supply a 300 dpi resolution. If I may use the photo, I'd like to know how the photographer would like to be credited on the cover. It's a striking photo (no pun intended) and I'm glad you're sharing it. Bill Charland
