Great Egret

Some form of Herron or Egret I found in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens this afternoon while taking a break from work.

This has been identified as a Great Egret - Ardea alba.

      Thanks Maria,

I took about a dozen shots of him, most were overexposed as he was standing in the sun. This one I managed to get while the sun went behind a cloud.

I'm fairly sure it's some kind of herron or egret, but that's as close as I get.

It sort of looks like either an Intermediiate Egret or a Great Egret. Not sure which. Wonderful image

Thanks Alexandra, a bit of a web search reveals that yes, it is indeed a Great Egret.

Really helps to know what to look for, thanks again :)

      Feel free Helen :)

      They're very stately birds.
