Castle Carlin

The Inquisition!
love it
Castle Carlin by Zimzø.
During the Great War between the Darkfurth Empire and the Elfrark forest bandits, many fortresses and much land changed owners in the bitter advances and sieges.

Castle Carlin, at the end of the war, became the home of the Lord of Elfrark. He commissioned an insanely proportioned manor house to be built, and turned the castle into a thriving attractions centre for sightsee-ers and warriors from about the realm. A quaint fishing industry boomed, and the tournaments were a global phenomenon. Jimmy the Blacksmith became the best smith in the world, and gave many knights the edge(geddit?) in battle with his fine wares. A statue was erected in honour of what the lord had achieved, and now he and his smexy wife live there very happily. He became rich when scouring the cavernous mines, but it all changed when the black-clad inquisition arrived...

see if you can spot them. I'd be surprised if you could spot the second feller. Metaphorical cookies to the first person who can.

I would like to thank the great castle builders out there like Rocko, Aliencat, JD Luse, DARKSpawn and all the others who I can't think of right now for the inspiration they gave me.

More detailed pictures coming sometime later. You had better enjoy it :) I certainly did enjoy myself building it. Apart from that time the roof caved in on the house... I myself am incredibly proud of this, all things considered. I do not like to publicise my age online, but I think being twelve and all I've done quite a good job.

Sorry about the shoddy photo editing. I need practice. All advice is appreciated.

You need a better photo backdrop, or better editing afterward. :p

That said, this is a brilliant MOC and has been quite deservedly blogged

Cheers everyone. Thanks especially to SV for the blog!

I used just a sheet for the background but it wasn't necessarily a white sheet. Then some magic wand, magnetic lasso and eraser tool later and this is kinda what happened. The main problem was that the sheet wasn't big enough and some bookshelf got in the way.

Try adjusting Brightness/Contrast/Saturation then go over the photo with the Reduce Noise filter.

Great MOC, I have been following this ever since you started uploading WIP photos. I must say; it has developed into something remarkable. I'm glad you chose the cobblestone. ; )

Very cool, but good suggestions about the lighting and/or post-processing. Since you have Pro, that's actually something you can do right here on Flickr with Piknic.

Argh, how can I've missed this?! Anyway, it looks really nice. The architectural details look very good, so does the environment. The cobblestones look better than I thought, together with the greenery and such. I'm looking forward to more!
Like said before, it would look even better with more decent photos, and not just cutting away things in Photoshop. I can do that also, but it's much nicer to take good photo's and perhaps edit a few things in the background. But cutting away the background makes it look all weird and stuff.
