Yes, that's correct. After Reg passed away, Arnold gave an terrific speech about what he had learned from Reg, and how he still benefits from that today. You can find it on YouTube.

The irony behind this, Arnold appears to be applying sunscreen to Reg Park , and probably little did Reg or even Arnold know that it would be skin cancer that would kill Reg many years later. Back in those days very few people worried over or even knew the potential health effects of the sun.

Well noticed! It's true what you say, but Park was 79 when he passed away. At that age some forms of the disease are likely to appear.
And Reg had dark hair and dark eyes, so he was naturally more protected against lots of sunshine because his skin was less vulnerable than that of someone with blond hair and blue eyes?
Sun's rays have a lot of positive sides too. It's usually the amount (number of hours/intensity) which makes the difference between good and harmful effects I think.
