One of my goals for OMDD was to capture a "significant"
image from Disneyland in the 4 A.M. hour...
Why was 4 A.M. so important?
To me it represented the ultimate hour at OMDD because it was waaaaay past the normal hours of operation, even the 1 A.M. closing times of years past, and only once before (Grad Night 1982) had I been in the Park that late (or early haha). I had no idea exactly what that image would be, but I was getting concerned as the morning creeped towards 6 A.M. and the end of our journey.
Suddenly, as we were trying to plan our sunrise strategy, I remembered the clock on It's a Small World and I knew I had my shot... As we walked back towards IASW, we ran into the team from Tours Departing Daily again who were already setup and shooting the same scene ...Ah well, so much for originality! Thankfully, they were finished and cleared out just before the doors of the clock opened at 4:45 to reveal the time at the quarter-hour....I got setup just in time!
