Day 194 of Project 365: Flighter

Day 194 of Project 365: Flighter

Although a pen from the '70s isn't quite vintage, it is still a welcome addition to my collection. Meet the Flighter Parker "25", a sturdy and serviceable low-end pen with a steel nib that writes just as nicely as a Lamy. I used it extensively today to finish a letter I've been writing to a friend in San Francisco for the past ... several months. How embarrassing! I will finally mail it tomorrow.

Day 193 of Project 365: Festival

Day 193 of Project 365: Festival

FunkyPlaid and I hit the Meadows Festival for lunch this afternoon and ended up finding some treasures in the stalls, including the lovely plant-stand that he is holding in this photo and a perfectly-functional "Flighter" Parker 25 fountain pen. A few of our other finds will remain secret for now because I intend to put them in the post.

Day 192 of Project 365: Departures

Day 192 of Project 365: Departures

This afternoon, Hawk returned to London for a last night in the UK before heading back to the States. FunkyPlaid and I saw him off at Waverley amidst construction and detours and thousands of people with their cute dogs milling about.

On the way to the train station, we spotted Seth on his bike, and the serendipity of it reminded me of how much I loved seeing random friends while wandering around San Francisco. It also reminded me that serendipity doesn't happen if I stay in the house all the time.

I was feeling all the feelings today, confidence and melancholy and excitement and exhaustion and all of it, and now I am a damp dishrag so it must be time for bed.

Day 190 of Project 365: Buried

Day 190 of Project 365: Buried

Today was a catch-up-on-homework day for me. Luckily, our guest is exceptionally good at entertaining himself. Still, I regretted not being able to go on adventures with him. We had Thai food for dinner and then I got right back to it, and will probably be going for a few more hours at least.
