This is my mom at my dad's gravesite in the veterans section at Pine Hills cemetary Toronto on Remembrance Day 2010. She died of emphysema and is now buried with him since November 29th, 2011. She lived with me for 14 years and had been in and out of hospital last year. On October 6th, 2011 she was admitted and was not able to come home again. The doctors said she was well enough to be looked after in a nursing home and she died 24 hours after leaving the hospital. She was in great discomfort because the doctors had to take her off many of the meds in order to send her to the nursing home. I know she is better off not struggling for every breath but I miss her so much. I have not been on flickr because I cannot get past losing her and I have not been able to take photos. I hope that by posting this memorial to her that I can stop the tears and move on. Bye Mom - I love you!

I caught this little sparrow watching me while I was taking pictures of his friends at the feeders. The way he is looking right at me caught me off guard. Luckily I was able to press the shutter in time.

This sparrow looks rather annoyed at the cardinal for taking so much time at the feeder. Cardinals are not into sharing so the sparrow will have to be patient.

This sleepyhead was high in a tree near a pond in the Rouge Valley conservation area. It is nice to see a racoon in a natural environment instead of walking down the middle of the road on garbage night going from bin to bin.

It was very difficult to photograph this active bird. This was my favourite shot as he is upside down with a seed from the feeder in his mouth.
