Madaba's Jerusalem Mosaic Map

Church of the Holy Sepulcre (shown with a golen rotunda, which was destroyed by the Fatimids in 1009)
Cardo Maximus (extends the length of the city)
Madaba's Jerusalem Mosaic Map by Cybjorg.
This 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem was found under the floor of Madaba's St George's Church. The mosaic was probably made during the reign of the Emperor Justinian (AD 527-65) and hold significant historical value.

I work for a publishing firm based in Hong Kong. Whilst researching photographs for a historical book on the Middle East, I came across your photographs on Flickr.
