Ya, really exciting event. I set up at 1 am because I knew the moon set before 2 am. So, yes, there is a bit of moon glow here. I also thought that because the peak was at 2:30 am, I would be OK. What I did not take in consideration, is the settings on my camera. Ya, I did the rookie of all rookie moves, I kept my camera on RAW and did not change to jPeg. So, when I got to my camera at 5 am, the camera told me the CF card was FULL! UGH! I missed at least an hour of shooting! Oh well. When all was said and done, I missed at least an hour of shooting because of the one little rookie move. No biggie, I only captured one meteor and it was nothing to wright home about. Perhaps next year?
Geek talk: This is a total of 311 images. Stacked together with StarStaX. The new program I use that works on MAC! Each image is a total of 30 seconds long and an ISO of 1250. Next time I am going for meteors, I will go for ISO 1600. No more playing around!
