Mounted Ant Collection
With nearly a million specimens representing over 5,000 species, the Museum of Comparative Zoology boasts the world's largest collection of ants. Their classification and study has been the lifelong pursuit of Harvard Professor Edward O. Wilson. This drawer contains ants belonging to the genus Pheidole, the subject of a forthcoming book by Wilson. There are more species of Pheicole than any other any genus, making it the largest itn the world.
