Hi Molly!
This really is wonderful and pretty easy to make, too. The recipe is from Entertaining in the Northwest Style : A Menu Cookbook by Greg Atkinson.

This particular cake is two tarts that I've pushed together to make one big one. The bottom is a sweet, almond pastry, then it's topped vanilla pastry cream and then the fruits arranged on the cream which helps hold them in place. I made this several times last summer and it was a hit every time!
