Wonderland garden 2

Wonderland garden 2 by cubistscarborough.
There is a bit of room to wander around the scene before it starts to be obviously distorting. The one drawback is that any other avatars will seem to float at eye level. This won't be a problem if we replace the spooky 3D mannequins with mug-shots on a cube.

Hmm.... Two things.

A: Wonderland completely refuses to run on my Intel Dual-core Macbook Pro laptop....

B: I hate to say this but you seem to be going back not forward in terms of the history of 3D environments. Immersive VR and floating cubes with faces were around in 1998? Maybe even earlier?

I am still not sold on the Project Wonderland... But it is good to see your explorations with it.

Good luck...

I'm only running the Wonderland client on my MacBook, connecting to the MPK20/Wonderland server at Essex Uni. I think running the whole thing on a Mac is a bit fiddly. Your right about that this sort of thing has been around for ages. I was doing similar things with QTVR when I did my Masters in 1995. However, using a quickly captured familiar environment might be a useful for settling noobs in. Also, it's led me to an interesting line of artistic enquiry in Second Life. Check out my garage on the LeedsMet sim.
