I was at North Berwick waiting for aurora on Saturday night but the CME impact happened later than expected, at around 0617 UT on Sunday.

I didn't plan to head out on Sunday at first as I wasn't convinced that the geomagnetic storm would last until the evening. Fortunately, I received a call from a fellow aurora chaser, Mr. Reed Ingram Weir, that aurora was visible from North East of England. I then conveniently handed-over my 4-month old son to the care of my wife :) ….. and headed towards North Berwick (the only place with relatively clear sky on that night) as quickly as I could.

The aurora display that night turned out to be the best I have seen from the UK. It was so bright to the extent that I could see its reflection on the water! What a stunning night.

It has been a while since my last upload on Flickr. Life has been pretty busy for me due to the arrival of our wee boy in Sept (picture in comment).

Anyway, hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and have a great year ahead!

Great opportunity for some street photography during Fringe Festival. Good time to be in the city.

After seeing some fine shots taken by Rod at Pan Ha, I decided to give it a go one morning. The condition wasn't too promising at first. Just when I was busy shooting at the other side of the beach, I turned around and saw these beautiful rays from the sky. I must have taken tons of shots with different patterns of rays and wave. I like this the most.

Took this shot around an hour before my previous upload, when the aurora visibility was at its strongest. This was shot towards the south of Scotland.
