ENTITLEMENT

ENTITLEMENT by Chris Blakeley.
It's rare that I take a picture with a specific final product in mind. This time was obviously an exception. Original here.

Created with fd's Flickr Toys.

For the umpteen thousand people who have been by to see this: no, this is not my car and the parking lot was pretty much vacant when I took this picture.

Haha, if I ever see vehicles parked like that, I'll reverse my tiny car (a Honda Jazz), in to the gap next to the driver's door, and leave my car an inch or two from their car. I then photograph the park job and their number plate, and go and do what I need to.

No matter what vocal people on the internet might say they'd do if they found a car parked right up next to theirs, blatently left like that on purpose, I'm yet to get any damage and haven't had to present my photos as evidence to the police.

But I have had a woman bitching at me for not leaving enough space.... in her world her poor parking had nothing to do with her lack of ability to get back in her car!

I've found a pretty funny website to let the people who park like this know how I feel: www.youparklikeanasshole.com.
They've even got printable PDF forms you can fill out and leave under their windshield wipers.

In my younger days I had to circle a parking lot at a busy mall for 10 minutes looking for a place to park. I noticed while searching that there was some Corvette parked diagonally across two parking places. When I finally was able to park, I had to walk by the double-parked car, and got two little pebbles, unscrewed the valve stem covers on the right front, and left rear tires, put the pebbles in, and tightened until I hear the air hissing out. I walked away hoping the guy really liked that parking spot, because he was going to be there for awhile.
