Excellent shot, I love the museum-like composition. I'd like to know what species all of these are... some look like raccoons and cats, but it's hard for me to tell without looking at the teeth. [edit: I should just look at the tags, haha.]

A sterile presentation of interesting objects (but I guess it goes along with the title, huh?). Some skulls over-exposed one or two stops. And the black bordering the skulls should be the same all around.

Sterile is what comes to mind first. It has an institutional feel to it - like photographing a display case. Good information shot, I suppose.

I wouldn't say it's uninteresting, but I do think it could be better lit. I like the shadows, but the edges are very dark. On the bright side, maybe you'll win this weeks contest in the meh group

I know this is an art piece, but would love to see it added to Natural History Mystery, especially if you can ID any of the skulls.

Hey Crow Hand - i sent you a flickr mail about possibly using this shot for a book cover. I know lots of people don't check 'em - so if you get a chance could you have a quick read fo it and get back to me?

Wonderful image! I particularly like that these are not the "perfect" specimens that one would see in a museum exhibit, rather each skull has a personality all its own. I love the rodent chew marks!
