Inez and The Burger That Bears Her Name

Inez and The Burger That Bears Her Name by crowolf.
CS's, Jackson, MS
Oh, sweet ambrosia! The Inez Burger and the wonderful woman that created it. CS's was our college hangout. $2.00 pitchers of beer on Thursdays ruined many academic careers and earned me a colorful nickname. The place has not changed a bit. It is like it was hermetically sealed in 1985. A new security fence at Millsaps and an increase in the drinking age from 18 to 21 changed the clientel but the food is still great and Pat and Inez are still gracious hosts. They deserve sainthood for putting up with us "back in the day" and they promised my daughter they would take care of her if she comes to Millsaps. Inez warned her that she could not get away with telling us that "CS's is a bookstore, like your father did with his parents when he wrote so many checks here".

Thanks! It was delicious. Someone asked me why it is lumpy. Those lumps are the huge chunks of beef in the amazing chili beneath that blanket of caliente queso.

The class of '63 did not have the benefit of CS's. Had to settle for Macks by the Tracks.

The cheese fries are good too! I was there almost every Thursday from 1982-1987.

Yep, yep! Had to have cheese fries with my big Inez in those days. We were there at the same time. I graduated from Millsaps in 1986.Two dollar pitchers on Thursday nights made it hard to make an 8:00 class on Friday.
