Very nice. I like the composition and the people standing all in a row. But I need the picture to have some more oomph to save it. But if its any consolation this one was close...

What is going on at the top of the picture? Did you do that? If so, take it off and you get a saveme. Great sillhouettes. OH - get rid of the light on the left too.

you can't post a picture when you still have one in the pool. You should have removed your other picture first. PLease read the rules. Not respecting the rules will not help people save your picture.

this gets a lot of points just for being an antidote to all the "couples on the beach at sunset" pictures

and it's got a nice post-apocalyptic feel to it

hate the bowel movement colors, but other than that ...

I remember the colours being a little different, more sun-like.

      Here's one I took ...

      Sun

I didn't submit it to deleteme because every sentient creature in London with a camera took the same picture. Top marks for the crop and waiting for an interesting group of people to come into view but the colour is just plain wrong - the Future is not brown ...

LOVE this shot. I love the symmetry. The only thing I don't like is the light on the left hand side. I don't want you to crop it to square aspect ratio, as I love the lines that draw you to the sun and shadows. But if you're going to do a straight on shot, centering is key. Looks like you need to be a step or two to the right on this one to be completely symmetrical.

      Still, I vote SAVEME!

Well, I wasn't in London, or sentient, so this is the first I've seen this. Looks like a still from some retro sci-fi movie. Like the framing and color.

I really like this shot, the figures and rail are fantastic. I tried a narrower crop on it and I think it really benefits from being 1. centered better, and 2. losing some of the distraction at the vertical edges.

However, with vodkamax noting you're a rule breaker and the obvious (and odious) fact that you're a scrubs fan, I have to give this one the boot.

Cool photo! This is my first true saveme vote of the day! I like the people on the railing a lot. That museum is so cool, but the only exhibit in the main area when I was there at the beginning of April was a bunch of speakers playing all kinds of different sounds. It was cool, but I wish I could have seen something that used the space like this one!

I really enjoy the hazze that is there and the way its lit. I want to see this one over and over again. However the title is pretty dumb.

      Voted as Saveme.

Oh yes, the future is very dim and brown, and this is a cool picture. Maybe it's just lucky for being the first of a million pictures of that exhibit that I've seen, but then so be it.

      @ottoman42

Is the new title more to your liking?

    22. The New No. 2 (84 months ago | reply)

@ziz & Stefz - just because it was a popular exhibit and many people took photos of it doesn't add or subtract from this particular image. I would judge this one on its own merits.

For example, every single person here has taken their own picture in a mirror. Does that mean that they shouldn't be allowed in the deleteme pool? I say bring them on, if they are good enough then great - let them into the safe (like this one - photos16.flickr.com/20585073_e5a6e05f47_b_d.j pg)

That isn't to say that this is the perfect picture - it isn't and most of the criticism has been fair and good (re:color and cropping). I just think that voting delete solely becasue others have already taken pictures of a similar subject is not the best of reasons.

As for this particular subject, I think that nearly every other picture I have seen of it has totally blown out the color of the sun (including stefz's)and been variations of looking up in the mirror ceiling or trying to capture the whole place at once. I think this image is different from those others, but that's really for the delete me group to decide.

Anyway, thanks for the votes whether they are up or down.

      And sorry for the rant.

i like much about this ... but i agree with others who said that the light to the left subtracts from the overall image.

regarding the colouration in your version, i like it. i'd also like to see a version that has no people on the bridge.

I like the colour and tone, I agree with drgandy 2 or 3 steps to the right might have helped and I disagree with gerard belfast, I wouldn't have even looked at it without the people there. I would also suggest to anyone voting after me to open the full sized image before you pass judgement.

agree that the color/tone is part of what makes this interesting, it isn't a standard sunset-colors thing -- and the composition is great, almost looks like some vision-of-the-future out of the '50s. well worth saving

Too late to add a saveme, but I wanted to say that I like the retro, nostalgic feel of this image. Very cool.

      Great shot.

I feel very lucky to have seen this exhibit, the affect it had on people was just unbelievable. I like how everyone's images are a different color, depending on white balance or film type.

    28. topherphoto (84 months ago | reply)

Also, the light on the left people have commented on is not a light, its a reflection on some windows looking out from the rest of the museum.

OK, let's talk about digital photography and the capture of colour. Like every other inhabitant of London carrying a camera (even if I was a temporary inhabitant), I too made this a repetitive subject. Let's face it. Slapping a bank of high-intensity lamps on a wall, putting a big plastic disc in front of them and calling them the "sun" makes for something unusual, even unique. So there's not much you can do with this that doesn't call up cliches. I tried film and digital and found that the wavelengths that those high-intensity lamps eminated were more tricky for the colour interpretation logic of my Canon (not to mention film) than for me. The whole thing was a fake anyway, so none of that really matters in the end. Effect is all. As for the reflection on the left from the north balcony, that gave some depth and perspective that the "sun" itself did not convey. Nice shot.

    31. topherphoto (84 months ago | reply)

I don't feel anything about this exhibit was "fake." Artificial, sure, but the feeling of walking in from the gray skies of London to this MAMOTH room filled with fog and orange light was very genuine. I have never been anywhere where I felt more compulsive about just getting one-more-shot. The best way I can describe it; this place made people happy, or at least frisky. Perhaps that's the effect that matters. Anyhow, very real.
