After I had an appointment with - potential - clients it became a habit of mine to spend the rest of the morning, or afternoon, photographing landscapes or scenery on my way home. Like this afternoon I drove to the province of Drenthe (North-East Netherlands) and wanted to photograph some classic white winterscapes while I met these guys along the way. From a distance they looked like Trojans guarding their territory. While I became closer they seemed to enjoy me standing next to them while photographing the landscape with this small unpaved road crossing the entire landscape, at least as far as I could see. Actually, they were the friendliest calm and most beautiful horses that I've met.

P.s. still busy catching up with all of you. Will be there soon! To those 475 new contacts - 24 pages pending! - I'd like to say hi and thank you for viewing my work and adding me as your contact. I really appreciate it, and I will review each of you in the forthcoming days. Just don't think I haven't added you back because of ignorance. Also, I can't guarantee that I'm adding you reciprocally. I already have my hands full with my current contact-list. Nevertheless, thank you for your patience.

Another addition to my ongoing series of Punt van Reide. It's one from this summer, taken with a D200 which I sold. More snowy pictures coming soon :)
This is a 176 sec. exposure when the first stars appeared. The light behind the dike is Emden, Germany, a few hundred meters across Fiemel, the place where this shot was taken.
Fiemel is a hamlet in the municipality of Delfzijl, the Netherlands. It lies at the east of Termunten, directly on the Ems, at the beginning of de Punt van Reide, the extreme northeastern tip of the province Groningen.
Post-processing notes: Color correction, contrast and detail enhancement.
Exposure info: ISO 100 - 12mm - f/4 - 176 sec.
Location: Fiemel, the most north-eastern part of Groningen, the Netherlands. Along the breakwater near the Reidehoeve.
Some photos of this series are also featured on Het Groninger Landschap in Beeld

Back again, still not dead :). Btw, thanks to those who sent their concerns through email. The reason for my long mental absence and inactivity here on Flickr is that my design business needs 200% focus in order to support my family, especially at times like this and the last months of the year in particular. My graphics-, logo- and visual identity design business is my core business and my only source of income as a full-time freelancer.
Hope you all well and I'll try to keep in touch with each one of you in the next couple of days.
