Terrifying in HD (3/365)They do Studio Ghibli too! :D ![]() ![]() I've been making sure I've been taking advantage of the January sales, everything is priced in rediculous proportions. Though I've lost my interest in DVDs and have been sticking to blurays (meaning I'll only buy films that are good and rewatchable). Here are 3 blurays I got from the sales or from others, followed by some quick reviews on them (though a short one on Die Hard 4.0 since I've seen that before).

Die Hard 4.0 You can't go wrong with Die Hard, if you haven't seen the other 3 die hards, go see it! But yeah, good old classic action film to get all manly and shouty at, not to mention after watching it you get the need to end every sentence with "bitch". Justin Long is in it (the american dude who does the I'm a Mac ads) but he's not that good, the show is all about John McClain :D So yes, no-one dies harder than John McClain... bitch Wall-E I was surprised with the amount of feedback I've heard from everyone about this film, it's been highly rated and I tend to go sceptical over animations that aren't culty enough (eg Studio Ghibli). I saw it on the sale and bought it (along with CLOVERFIELD) and was glad I did, it's just cute and geeky, there's quite a lot of geeky references packed into the film, including Apple Macs, and 2001 Space Oddesy (was going to get that but I doubt the upscaling is going to make it worth buying on bluray). But yeah, all kinds of ace beans, some parts reminded me of Short Circuit (I mean, he's almost the same as Johnny 5). The Orphanage I received 2 blurays from my friends on my birthday, I was anticipating more obvious ones like Die Hard 4.0, Indiana Jones or something that'd be ace on bluray but I was surprised to see two films I haven't seen before. My friends have a really good taste in films so they bought me the Orphanage and the Host on bluray. Haven't seen the Host yet, but I just saw the Orphanage and that was pretty fun! Not sure why I felt the need to turn the lights off and up the volumn on the surround sound, it scared the shit out of me in some places haha (but in the kind of way where you instantly shrug it off like you didn't flinch one bit... anyway, i saw it alone anyway so nobody really cared). It reminded me a lot of Pan's Labyrinth (same director) and has it's gritty moments (mmm grit). But yeah, ace film and I totally recommend it. Commentsvulnerablechaos

Blurays are too expensive! The Orphanage sounds awesome. I like Pan's Labyrinth too. And I like gritty moments (mmm). I watched There Will Be Blood on Bluray yesterday, it was epic.
