Made in Germany

Shot with Canon EOS 40D + Canon 50mm f/1.8 II

I always liked photographs of old cars, parked in an usual street.
When I passed this scene I instantly recognized the potential of it, since it was parked in a street that looked particularly old, or rather timeless.

The composition might not be too special, but I was proud of capturing the mood I wanted to convey.
Creating images yourself, that are similar to images that you loved even before you started with photography is something very valueble for me.

Shot with Canon EOS 40D + Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM

This was a photographically amazing weekend.
At first I went shooting with Mandy.
We visited a spot that we have been to before, and left two hours later with pretty much the results that we came for.

The next day, yesterday, I went shooting with Robert.
We shot at a location that I discovered last friday, and both enjoyed the variety of settings, light moods and room designs. The time flew, the time came for us to head home.

While standing outside the building and waiting for Robert, an official saw me, and instantly started approaching and screaming at me. I left rather fast, not to say I ran, climbed a wooden fence (which led to some very tough looking excoriations) and called Robert to get the fuck out.

It seemed like my chaser did not expect me to be in company, since he left as soon as I had climbed that fence without looking for others. Robert did not face any problems and left without hurry.

In the end we were fine, and headed home with our adrenaline rushing and our memory cards full of valueble imagery.

These are the best kind of days...

Shot with Canon EOS 40D + Canon 70-200mm f/4L USM

This is another shot from the abandoned site that I discovered recently.
After visiting for the first time, I wanted to go back to shoot some other areas that I did not manage to cover during my first visit.
Unfortunately, after I wandered around on the site for about 10 minutes, I discovered some security checking the area. I had to leave. Fast!

Nevertheless, the weather was nice, and I wanted to use that to my advantage.
So I climbed into a tree to take this shot from outside the fence.
Holding the camera together with this heavy and long lens steady, while clinging my feet between to branches was a challenge, but I nevertheless managed to get a few good shots, and especially this one, which is just what I expected.

I need to go back there!

At first I want to thank Mandy for the cool idea on the processing. Thank you honey.

Creating this shot too me about 2,5 hours inside quiet unpleasant surroundings.
This place was humid, dark, and a bit frightening.

It took me so long, since I did not know exactly what I wanted to create. All I knew was, that I wanted to create something dark and moody, since the location offered everything that would be needed for that.
I shot until I had results that appealed to me.

I am happy with the result, but a bit unsure whether there are enough details in the shot.

I would love to know your impressions, thoughts and ideas on the concept and technical part.
Does the message come across? Don't hesitate to tell what you think. Please be honest.

I would also love to know whether you would be interested in a Before and After of the shot?

Spread your wings for the last flight

Spread your wings for the last flight

Shot with Canon EOS 40D + Canon 50mm f/1.8 II

This is another shot that I took at this amazing abandoned facility that I found last week.
On the site there is a large tower, with a frightening staircase (around 17 floors and you can look down the whole way). Right at the first step, I found this little poor creature.

I suspect it flew in there, and never came out again.
Creepy and sad, but it fitted quiet perfectly in that place.

I already got a whole set about dead birds, see here
