The time has come!

The time has come!

Well it's that time already - Me and my friend Ross leave on Saturday for the West Highland Way.

Was hoping for a lot more snow - but never know, maybe we will get out wish!

We think we'll take about 6 days to complete it. So if anyone is out and about along the Way then some photos would be appreciated!

Hope everyone is well and I hope you all have a great Christmas!

Craig

Ard Dawn III

Ard Dawn III

Loch Ard, The Trossachs, Scotland

Took this last year but didn't like it due to the blur of the reeds.

Not been out for a sunrise at all since maybe the start of the year. Need to get my finger out!

Tent trails

Tent trails

Ran up to Dunrod Hill at Loch Thom last night to take advantage of the stars.

En route up the hill the local ranger seen our torches and we heard distantly:

"Boys! What are you doing?!"
"I'm a photographer!" I screamed back.
After a couple of seconds delay including hearing my own reverb off the mountains:
"...In the dark?!"
"...Aye?!"
"What you taking photos of?!"
"Stars!"
"Awrite ok, just so I know what you're doing!"

We must have been shouting over a kilometre to each other. Strange how things like that can work out the way of the city noises!

Anyway, Ross threw the tent up quickly and put a lantern in it to add some interest.

That tent is older than me. And I'm 22.

Winter West Highland Way

Winter West Highland Way

A little bit of exposure in todays Greenock Telegraph for me and my friend Ross.

We've had this idea floating around for a while but we've decided to put it into action. We'll be walking the West Highland Way this winter - in the snow - completley unsupported.

Not allowed to stop anywhere for food, no B&B's just plain old tenting! And carrying a crap load of food.

Raising money for Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team - if anyone can spare even just £1 it would be great. As tesco says, every little helps!

You can either donate online at www.justgiving.com/winterchallenge or simply by text using the example below:

"WHWC69 £1" TO 70070

Best of all, your donations are eligible for gift aid if you're a UK taxpayer - so the government have to donate an extra 25%. Smashing!

Thanks for having a look,

Craig and Ross

Aonach Eagach

Aonach Eagach

Struggling to get out recently due to uni workload so here's one from the archives.

Taken on the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe. The gentleman you can see in the shot was quite old and was roped to a younger man who was leading. We overtook them on the last ascent to the summit, headed down Clachaig Gulley and into the pub to find them both sitting there with a pint. No idea how you done it guys - but bravo!
