Darwin's tree sketch tattoo
This is a modification of Darwin's sketch of the tree of life (http://www.flickr.com/photos/cpurrin1/213140594/), and I just had 2000 temporary tattoos made from it. If you've already e-mailed me about the previous tattoo challenge, you'll get some of these, too. And if you're lusting after some of these tattoos for yourself...well, I could be bribed. Same conditions as before folks. Don't be shy, now -- using your body to sell evolution is just the right thing to do, and you won't regret it.
And while you're at it, maybe there is a volunteer that can _also_ arrange a bunch of dead bugs at the tips of the branches. Something phylogenetically appropriate. Sex appeal PLUS a good cladogram would be amazing. You'd need a collaborator to help arrange the insects and take the photograph, of course. Ticks might stay in place, though -- that would be an entertaining shot. Here's a frog on a tattoo (though not an evolution one): www.flickr.com/photos/cayce/28399575. I'll also send you some of these: www.flickr.com/photos/cpurrin1/2775765597/in/set-1495012/. You can decide which one looks the best, and where, of course. These tattoos are also useful for dating. If you have one of these on a part of your body that is visible at the singles bar, you will not be hit upon by Creationists, a group that makes up more than half of those at a typical singles bar (http://www.trueorigin.org/edupolls.asp). That saves you a lot of time and trouble! Evolution fans might also recognize the image and hit on you, which would save you lots of time and would allow you to leave the bar scene in hours rather than months. [This image is brought to you by the Axis of Evo. More evolution images and related projects can be found at www.swarthmore.edu/NatSci/cpurrin1/evolk12/evoops.htm.] CommentsColin Purrington

i just saw a scan of this sketch in an art book yesterday. i actually thought about how i would knit it on a sweater, particularly the blow up of the tip of the branch. the "i think" part would be easy.
i blame all this on you, cp.
