Dodder on chenopodium by Colin Purrington.
Cross-section of a stem parasitized by the parasitic plant, Cuscuta salina. Seven yellow haustoria (from the tendril on exterior) can be seed invading host phloem.

Great photo. Wish I had some effective way to take photos through my microscope but the connections seem to cost almost as much as the microscope, or more since I picked up a second hand scope.
