These are an absolute riot, and themselves are ironic relics suitable for museum display.
I guess some of them, well, a LOT of them, haven't been updated since Mack the Knife charted (that universal reference point in time).

When we talked about these displays to other people, everyone was puzzled because not only had they never noticed, they had never even seen the displays. I think the museum is so huge that all the attention gets poured on the dinosaurs and the giant whale and squid models (admittedly awesome). No one notices the three floors of human culture dioramas or the forestry/agriculture section. We ran out of time before we got to the Africa section...but NEXT time...I'm sure it still won't be updated!
