• I used a standard running stitch to fill in the tree. I alternated stitches like bricks are layed. Not only does it go fast, it makes a perfect bark texture.

I loved it too .... I wouldn't have the courage to cut but it must have made wonderful ATCs.

Oh, what a gorgeous work, have to have a look at the ATC's!

That's amazing! Sad that it was cut... GREAT work though!

Yes, it had to be cut. But it's OK.
Did you look at KlimtWonky to see what the ATCs look like? They are nice too. Check them out.

I only have one regret--but I learned something--I should have gone online and found a better image of this painting to work from. Too much of the more interesting detail was lost in the image provided in the swap attachment.

That, and I wish I had kept one of my own for my assemblage. As it is, I will only get back work done by the other swap players. Two lessons learned.

That is suuuch a wonderful piece! (I am kinda chuckling at the idea you don't feel yours is detailed enough. Ummmm, hello, WHAT?! It's fabulous!) Love the wonky mix-up picture too, and how you treated each card as a standalone - as I'm sure not everyone's sections will match up "just right" anyway.

And I too wish I'd kept one of my own back for the final assemby , sigh.

I don't often do these kinds of projects where the whole thing is done as one large page then cut up. It requires a different way of working. But, it makes for a good exercise and a pleasant change from the norm (aka rut). They can be time consuming--or not.
