Had to give the low-light and high iso capabilities of my new camera a
workout, so headed into town last night, which also proved a test for
the body and new lens as it was raining a fair bit. With the old 400D
I would've probably called it a night very early on, but I wanted to
give the weather sealing on the 5DII a good workout, especially as
it's still under warranty... ;o)
I have to say I'm loving this body more and more. These were shot at iso3200, and although there is some visible noise, I don't want to rule out the effect the rain had on this. Also, my old Canon 400D would be hard pressed to keep up with the results achieved here even at iso800. I know, I know - all these points have been labored time and time again, but it's new to me so still very exciting! And the AF is really not that bad imho... low-light AF hunting is a thing of the past for me.
The other thing I've noticed is the way the new RAW files that come out of this body have sped up my workflow. With my old body I spent ages in PS pushing and pulling shadows and highlights and really having to 'work' the image, whereas now, the whole workflow seems to have sped up due to the quality of the images out of the camera - loving it!
