post modern elastic hum

post modern elastic hum by jaymce.
the engineer, calculated side of me loves the intricate pattern and detail, other brain lurves the colour. also, i just realized that there is a cd that goes with this pic... ... if you have it, have a listen to fugazi - instrument. absolutely amazin'

there is a tile wall on the side of a hospital up the way from my place. the tiles are all shades of blue. i got to playing in photoshop tonite (procrastination not playing) and i was able to extrude all these colors out of what was a very blue and basically plain picture. the original photo does not look much like this. basically i cut out what i wanted and transformed it. i then played around with the opacity of a black overlay while tweaking the hue and saturation of the original layer and i got all these colors to pop.

i love color but am color blind so if things looked messed up, blame it on my genes.

this does look cooler in larger sizes.

I definitely get the elastic hum, I would say it's more deconstructionist than postmodern, though :)

I hope you're joking about being colorblind, because it would be a tragedy if you couldn't see the interplay of colors in this picture...

ok, deconstructionist... i never went to no art school though. i be ignant to most of those things. thanks, though.

so... colorblindness i think sucks. your comment got me thinking about it again this morning and i think i might have a new way of explaining it. open a pic in photoshop or whatever tool you use and bring down the saturation 10 - 20 points. i *think* that is what color blind is. although, i have no way to know for sure. i hardly see differentiation tween many shades of certain colors.

I never went to no artschool neither. I'm not even sure if there is deconstruction in art. There is one in philosophy, literary criticism and so on though, and I never pass up an opportunity to be a smartass.

Interesting about your colorblindness. Makes me see your pictures in a whole new light. Sort of like Beethoven after he went deaf...

That's brilliant. The color manipulation makes the green shades look self luminant, making it look like some the display panel of a futurisitic electron brain from the sixties frozen in time.
