Oxbow Bend in the Grand Teton National Park is one of my favorite, as well as one of the most popular areas of the park. It was created when part of the river was cut off and left behind as the Snake River found a new path to the south.
This image is a favorite of mine in that the rising sun lit the landscape between the ground and the cloud cover above. The mountains caught some of this light as did the undersides of the clouds. A very beautiful place to watch the day start.
