Chicopee Center Sycamores![]() This shot is taken only a few feet to the right of the “Walking the Wall” shot. I wanted to post it, because of the two magnificent sycamore trees known as the “City Center Sycamores”. These two trees have the smoothest whitest bark you have ever seen. They glisten in the late afternoon sun. Of course I took the shot at noon. The trees were present in 1848 when Chicopee became a town and were mature trees by 1890 when Chicopee became a city. They were designated Heritage Trees in 1999 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I have no idea what that means. Chicopee City Hall is the building between the two trees.
