EPCOT Center - Curvy Pillars

EPCOT Center - Curvy Pillars

This week's theme should be an interesting one. It's going to be "EPCOT through a Fisheye". Since I got rid of my fisheye lens a while back, it's going to be fun going back and editing or re-editing old shots to fit the theme. Here's one of the Fez Room in Morocco to start the week off!

Check out www.DisneyPhotographyBlog.com today for part 1 of a three part series from Todd H about getting back to the basics of photography. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!!

Magic Kingdom - Perfect Way to End a Night

Magic Kingdom - Perfect Way to End a Night

And so concludes my weeks of nighttime Magic Kingdom shots with a wide open Main Street Train Station shot. It has been pretty fun pushing myself to go back into archives looking for shots to use to go with a theme. I think I'll try one again next week, probably from EPCOT.

I'm not usually one to feel this way, but I think this one looks better viewed large by hitting "L" on your keyboard. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!

Magic Kingdom - Moonlit Tomorrowland

Magic Kingdom - Moonlit Tomorrowland

Day 4 in the theme of night photos of the Magic Kingdom brings us to Tomorrowland. I have shot this gate many times before, but I never thought to get it from this angle until this past year. I also was never lucky enough to get a nice big moon right over top of the scene. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!!

Magic Kingdom - Walt in a Sea of Bokeh

Magic Kingdom - Walt in a Sea of Bokeh

For day 3 of this week's theme of night shots in the Magic Kingdom, I present the first shot this week to have a tighter composition. I don't usually spend a ton of nighttime in the parks with a tighter lens attached, but every once in a while it serves a major purpose. Getting the holiday dream lights to turn into bokeh is one of those purposes. Shot at f/2 with the Canon 135mm prime. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!

Magic Kingdom - Where Crypt Doors Creak

Magic Kingdom - Where Crypt Doors Creak

Day 2 of this week's theme of Magic Kingdom nighttime photos brings us to the Haunted Mansion. I had never actually taken a shot at shooting the Haunted Mansion at night until my trip in August of 2011. It's actually kind of funny that after all the trips I've taken to WDW, I ended up shooting Disneyland's mansion first. Anywho, this one is definitely a tough one. Compositionally, there aren't many options that pop out at you. And then there are those colors. The electric blues on the building are very hard to get right. I think that is a theme in the Magic Kingdom as opposed to say, EPCOT. At least in World Showcase, I feel the lighting at night has a much more peaceful, earth tone style to it, while MK has all the bright blues and purples that pop out and become very difficult to process. I'm not completely thrilled with this shot, but as it was my first attempt (and the only one I've got), I post it today. Thanks for lookin', and have a great day!
