Wild parakeets in Illinois

    My co-workers said I was crazy when I said I saw a bunch of parrots in the parking lot at work, so I had to go outside and take the picture.

    I've found out that they're monk parakeets, which were first seen in the Hyde Park neighborhood, but are now migrating to the suburbs. My photo was taken in Alsip, Illinois.
