We ended our day trip to the coast in Whitby again. I'd been lured by the many tales about the best fish and chips in England being located at The Magpie in Whitby.

When we got there the queue was out the door and down the steps, so we made do with the Magpie takeaway instead. A disappointingly soggy portion of fish & chips awaited us but we were so hungry we didn't care.

Walking back to the car, parked on the west side hill of Whitby, I noticed a small gap in the buildings, where the road turns into a hair-pin bend, with this elevated view of the harbour. The light was just getting good so I dragged the image capturing equipment out of the car and grabbed this long-exposure.

I am discovering long exposures only now. I have to say I am impressed by the effects you can obtain with it. What touches me the most is the contrast between the flowing and the static parts, like here.

Your processing is achieving some stunning colours. What you present is different from what other excellent photographers on here present. I can now spot a Corica masterpiece from the thumbnail alone, as I can with Flux, Minor, Greengage, Bristol Bound, Luka Skracic etc.

Daza - This was taken about 2 hours after I got drenched at Cayton Bay. I got a few stares from the locals because my jeans were still wet up to just below my knees and the boots still squleched. Had there been a purveyor of crocs open at the time I can probably say I would now be the proud owner of a pair, but only if they were in bright pink with yellow dots ;-)

Nice shot but you were wrongly informed abvout the best fosh and chips. You should have stepped into the Quayside a little further down ... much better quality and without the massive queues you get at the Magpie. Overrated that place is.
