Centralia, PA

Here, you can see a large crevace in a stretch of highway, now abandoned, leading to Centralia, PA. There was smoke rising from the center of the crack, however, it was difficult to capture it in this photograph. The stretch of road has become somewhat of a party spot it seems - debris and graffiti are nearly everywhere. Spots of the road are warped, and in the cracked areas, the escape of the smoke and sulfur fumes is noticeable - the asphalt has white, red, and green residue caked atop it.

I'm a little puzzled as to why anyone would want to live with this in their midst. I woke up this morning with a sore throat, undoubtably caused by sucking in this stuff for an hour or so yesterday.

You went to Centralia? Nice. Hope it was interesting and you didn't breathe too many toxic fumes.

I'm just glad the road was abandoned.
