Grr, is it possible to alter the photo on
flickr? I really should've cut down on the
contrast here.. Oh well, rate away.

you'd need a pro account for that.
but why, i like the face being protected /
hidden in the dark,
and the soft tones framing it.

Some people would probably be able to point
out what's wrong with it or things - as is
though I think it's really cool and all. The
contrast might be a bit high, but I believe
that actually adds to it and all. Bit
vagueish and all eh, but the end result is a
resounding (as opposed to a sounding)

I like it except for the white area at the
top, which I find a bit distracting.

I have a dusty scanner too, feel my sympathy
it is a nice shot, darkness into light, a
nice close feeling to this

Savvo, you're right. The original looks a lot
better. I think part of the problem was that
I shined a glossy print, which may have
caused a bit of haywire with the scanner.

I like the lines, but the face is just a
little too dark and murky feeling for me.

This is Popolo so I hate to be a stickler
about technicalities. Still, there's just
too much graininess and dust.

I too share your dusty scanner troubles, only
mine has dust on the inside. I like the
graininess and colors, dust aside nice shot.

Sorry- this was one of the first one's I
rated, so I didn't quite see that rule - I
like the contrast, and the dark area to the
top left - draws my attention to the face and
arm. Nice crop, also.

Muzerr, can you add a comment to your Popolo,
please? It won't count otherwise.
I love it - it has a real film quality to
it (although I confess to having checked the
tags to confirm my first impression) and
there's an almost abstract quality to it, a
jumble of shapes, light and colour combining
to make something recognisable.

As per usual I really like your portraits,
they are soft and show great use of light.
