Dining Room - 1We are currently undergoing house renovations! Our dining room was by far one of the worst rooms in the house, with the lovely lime-based plaster on the walls, which is apparently original (c. 1930). The large white patch is where a window to the kitchen used to be, and to the right is a patio door to our garden.

Our builder was quick to enlighten us of the serious danger those tiles would have projected, had there been a fire. The fumes they give off are deadly.

Looking back, I think we should have kept the fireplace as it was sort of a nice feature - navy blue decorated tiles, and an original part of the house. The whole above is where the previous owners left this 'exquisite' clock-picture thing which was revolting. And when we removed it, there was a giant hole! Both will be bricked (fiberglass) and plastered.
