Victoria Memorial

Victoria Memorial

This is a customary shot in Calcutta. Almost a touristy one. The Memorial Hall was an initiative of Lord Curzon upon Queen Victoria's death in 1901. It currently has the largest known collection of the artists Daniells - Thomas and William Daniells who travelled across the length and breadth of India and presented its architecture and landscape to the British elite.

Breakfast on the run

Breakfast on the run

A rather common scene on the streets on central Calcutta, where such roadside joints exist to serve everything from breakfast to lunch along with a smattering of snacks. The choices may be limited, but it still remains cheap.
